REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — The Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) held the ‘Mudik Bersama PKS’ programme as a gesture of care to assist the public in celebrating Eid al-Fitr in their hometowns on Wednesday (18/03/2026) at the PKS DPTP Office, Jakarta. Hundreds of people from Jakarta and surrounding areas crowded the yard of the PKS DPTP Office since morning to await the departure of 16 buses that would take them to six destinations: Cirebon, Semarang, Solo, Malang, Surabaya, and Lampung. During the send-off for the homecomers, PKS General Secretary Muhammad Kholid conveyed his message to always prioritise safety and security during the journey. “We prioritise safety, then security; no need to speed, the important thing is to arrive safely. We should pray more so that the journey is safe, comfortable, and reaches the destination safely,” said Kholid. After the speech, Kholid also chatted with a female homecomer heading to Malang named Win, who expressed her joy at being able to celebrate Eid in her hometown after 21 years. Win also expressed her thanks to PKS for bridging family ties and easing expenses for homecoming fares, which skyrocket as Eid approaches. “Alhamdulillah, I express my thanks; this is an extraordinary programme that must be maintained because it greatly helps the public in bridging family meetings during Eid,” said Win. Finally, Kholid, accompanied by Deputy General Secretary for Protocol and Security Leadership Iman Firmansyah, sent off the homecomers’ buses by reciting the basmallah while waving the flag.
