PKS reaffirms commitment to promoting quality education
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting quality education for the golden generation through the 2026 National Education Day (Hardiknas) commemoration themed ‘Quality Education for a Characterful Golden Generation’, held on Saturday (9/5). PKS President Almuzzammil Yusuf called on all cadres to become centres of excellence in education by instilling the spirit of education in line with the mandate of the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, namely education that enhances faith, piety, noble morals, and enlightens the nation’s life. “We want all PKS cadres to work from what we can do. We improve our households, colour our community environments, and fill our digital activities with positive things because our children use HP (handphones) more,” said Almuzzammil in a statement confirmed in Jakarta on Sunday. Meanwhile, he appreciated the struggles of the PKS Faction in the House of Representatives (DPR RI), which continues to advocate for teachers’ welfare and oversee discussions on the National Education System Bill. On the same occasion, Chair of the Education and Health Division of the PKS Central Board, Kurniasih Mufidayati, explained that the party provided symbolic educational assistance to 24 students from kindergarten to higher education levels. In addition, she said PKS gave recognition to 24 inspirational teachers from several districts/cities in Indonesia, ranging from movers of Adiwiyata schools in Bogor City, West Java, teachers who travel 70 kilometres to teach, to survivors of flash floods in Aceh. “The number 24 is a symbolic number for PKS’s 24th anniversary,” she explained. In the activity, PKS also provided vegetable seeds to the attending teachers as a form of the party’s role in strengthening family-based food resilience.
