PKS Proposes Transjabodetabek Fare Increase to Rp 4,500, Paid JakLingko
A member of the Jakarta Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) Commission B, Taufik Zoelkifli, has expressed support for increasing Transjakarta fares, including those for the Transjabodetabek service, provided the hike does not overly burden residents or the city administration. The chairman of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) faction noted that a recent meeting with PT Transjakarta and the Jakarta Transportation Agency discussed the planned fare adjustments. “We essentially agree to raise the fares because Transjakarta cannot continue to be heavily subsidised by the DKI Jakarta administration. Financially, we are also struggling, so to reduce the subsidy, Transjakarta must increase its bus fares,” Taufik told reporters on Saturday (12/6/2026). He proposed that the planned increase must consider the public’s ability to pay and willingness to pay, urging PT Transjakarta to conduct a serious study involving transport users. “First, review the Ability to Pay (ATP) and Willingness to Pay (WTP). The fare might rise from Rp 3,500 to Rp 4,500 or Rp 4,000, rather than jumping straight to Rp 5,000. This means we still raise it, but at a level that does not burden the people or the DKI Jakarta government,” he said. Taufik also suggested adjusting the JakLingko feeder service, which is currently free, to become a paid service, possibly at Rp 500 or Rp 1,000 depending on the study’s outcome. The Jakarta provincial government is planning to adjust Transjabodetabek fares following the launch of new routes connecting the capital with surrounding buffer cities, including a route from Blok M to Soekarno-Hatta Airport. The administration considers the current Rp 3,500 fare no longer relevant for longer intercity routes, but has assured that any adjustment will consider public affordability and the sustainability of the transport service.
