PKS Promotes Quality Education for the Golden Generation
JAKARTA — Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) President Almuzzammil Yusuf has called on all cadres to become centres of excellence in education by instilling the spirit of education in line with the mandate of Article 31 Paragraph 3 of the 1945 Indonesian Constitution, namely education that enhances faith, piety, noble morals, and enlightens the nation’s life.
“We want all PKS cadres to work from what we can do; improve our households, colour our community environment, and fill our digital activities with positive things because our children spend more time using mobile phones,” said Almuzzammil while serving as keynote speaker and opening the 2026 National Education Day (Hardiknas) commemoration event themed ‘Quality Education for a Characterful Golden Generation’ in Jakarta on Saturday (9/5/2026).
He emphasised that education is not limited to formal schooling but also encompasses non-formal and informal education. Almuzzammil also appreciated the efforts of the PKS Faction in the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) in advocating for teachers’ welfare and overseeing discussions on the National Education System Bill (RUU Sisdiknas).
On that occasion, PKS symbolically handed over educational assistance to 24 students from kindergarten to higher education levels. Almuzzammil gave symbolic appreciation to 24 inspirational teachers from various cities and regencies who attended online or in person.
“Alhamdulillah, the Hardiknas event was attended by education and health division officials as well as teachers from cities and regencies across Indonesia, in a hybrid format. Symbolically, the PKS President provided educational aid for 24 students and appreciation for inspirational teachers to 24 teachers. The number 24 is symbolic of PKS’s 24th anniversary. In this event, the PKS President also gave vegetable seeds to teachers attending offline as a form of PKS’s participation in strengthening family-based food security,” explained Kurniasih, chair of the education and health division of the PKS Central Executive Board.
PKS also gave appreciation to inspirational teachers, from initiators of Adiwiyata schools in Bogor City, teachers who travel 70 kilometres to teach, to survivors of flash floods in Aceh.
In addition to the aid distribution, PKS’s Hardiknas commemoration was filled with the Ngobrol Pendidikan (Ngopi) talkshow with Jakarta Provincial DPRD Commission E member Muhammad Hasan Abdullah and an Education Workshop with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology.
