PKS President's Choice: Eid Sacrifice Over Football Abroad
JAKARTA - PKS President Almuzzammil Yusuf recounted a pivotal moment during Eid al-Adha when faced with the choice between personal pleasure of playing football in Singapore or serving the community by managing the qurban at a school. Ultimately, Almuzzammil chose to oversee the sacrifice to please the public. He shared this during the qurban ceremony at PKS headquarters in South Jakarta on Thursday, 28 May 2026. “I was torn between playing football, which was my dream, or managing the qurban. That decision was a turning point for me; choosing to be part of the Eid sacrifice committee was a monumental event in my life,” Almuzzammil said on the official PKS website. He also noted that even his primary school-aged grandchild had saved money collectively to contribute to a goat for qurban. “Youth are full of togetherness; I heard my grandchild’s school organised donations to buy a goat. Some pooled funds through arisan, others saved together. Their focus is the intention to contribute, with a spirit of raising one or two thousand rupiah,” he added. “May Allah bless us all, and may next year see even greater contributions to the nation and country,” Almuzzammil said. Meanwhile, the DPP’s 73 cattle for sacrifice were distributed for slaughter across various regions. “Symbolically, four were slaughtered at the party office, 23 at the animal slaughterhouse, 21 distributed to DPWs without DPR RI members, six specifically for flood-affected areas in Sumatra, and 18 allocated to community organisations in Jakarta and surrounding areas,” Iman explained.
