PKS Insists No Conflict Behind Proposal to Replace DKI DPRD Chairman

The Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) has asserted that there is no internal conflict behind the issue of replacing DKI Jakarta DPRD Chairman Khoirudin. PKS described the proposal for replacement as purely part of the party’s consolidation efforts.

PKS faction chairman in the DKI Jakarta DPRD, M Taufik Zoelkifli (MTZ), stated that every decision taken by the party’s Central Executive Board (DPP) has undergone thorough consideration.

“Yes, there certainly is; there must be considerations. Of course, it has been considered carefully by the leaders in the DPP. As for us in the DPW, in PKS our principle is ‘sami’na wa atha’na’—we listen and obey. So if there is indeed a change, we listen and comply,” Taufik said when asked for confirmation on Tuesday (21/4/2026).

Taufik emphasised that the issue of replacing Khoirudin is not driven by internal problems within the party. He described the step as solely aimed at strengthening consolidation.

“No, there isn’t. This is purely for consolidation. We’re updating things for the good of the public as well,” he said.

According to him, changes in positions within PKS are a normal occurrence and part of the organisation’s refreshment process. He cited several previous changes at both central and regional levels.

“There has indeed been a replacement of the PKS party president, and the faction chairman was also replaced—from Mr Ismail to me now. This is just part of that series,” he explained.

Regarding the process of replacing the DKI Jakarta DPRD Chairman, Taufik said it still requires several administrative stages. These include reporting to the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri), coordination with the DPRD and the governor, and a plenary session.

“The process for replacing the DPRD Chairman must be reported to the Ministry of Home Affairs. Then it will be returned to the DPRD, and we will also coordinate with the Governor. There will be a plenary session before the replacement. So the process will take a while,” he stated.

Meanwhile, regarding Khoirudin’s position if the replacement does occur, Taufik said the party has prepared a new role for him. Khoirudin is said to be focused on mentoring PKS public officials nationwide.

“With his extensive experience, we hope he can pass it on to all provinces. So, he will roughly become the Coordinator for Mentoring PKS Public Officials,” he said.

Furthermore, Taufik noted that the consolidation being carried out by PKS is also related to preparations for upcoming political agendas, including the 2029 elections. PKS aims to strengthen synergy between cadres, public officials, and the public.

“So the main point is that we want first to consolidate PKS cadres with their public officials. There are cadres, public officials, and then the public, or the people, so to speak. This needs good consolidation, especially since we are a political party; we are also preparing for 2029,” he added.

Based on a letter seen by detikcom on Tuesday (21/4/2026), PKS DKI Jakarta revoked the Central Executive Board of the Prosperous Justice Party’s Decree Number: 128/SKEP/DPP-PKS/2025 regarding the Leadership and Apparatus of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Regional People’s Representative Council from the Prosperous Justice Party Faction for the 2024-2029 Period, dated 27 October 2025, and declared it no longer valid.

“It proposes the replacement of the Chairman of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Regional People’s Representative Council from the Prosperous Justice Party, previously held by Drs. H. Khoirudin M. Si, to be replaced by Suhud Alynudin, S. IP., M.Sc,” reads the decree, quoted on Tuesday (21/4).

Furthermore, in the third dictum of this decree, it is stated that this decision is conveyed to the PKS DKI Jakarta Regional Executive Board (DPW) to be followed up in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

“To the party members as stated in the Second Dictum above, they are obliged to comply with all regulations concerning the functions, authority, and duties as Chairman of the Regional People’s Representative Council concurrently as a council member and Member of the Prosperous Justice Party Faction as the party’s mandatary in the Regional People’s Representative Council,” reads the fourth dictum of the decree.

In the fifth dictum, it is explained that this decision takes effect from the date of issuance until the end of the DKI Jakarta DPRD term for the 2024-2029 period.
