PKS condemns Israel's 'cruelty'

YOGYAKARTA: More than 1,000 members of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) staged a rally on Friday in Yogyakarta, condemning Israel's attack on Palestine recently that killed a senior leader of Palestine's right wing group Hamas.

Party members held a rally after they completed Friday prayers. They started a long march from Syuhada Mosque, Kota Baru, proceeded along Jl. Sudirman and Jl. Malioboro and ended at the Yogyakarta post office intersection, in the heart of the city. Along their way to the intersection they yelled anti-Israel slogans.

In the protest, coordinator Muhammad Rozai demanded the UN find a way to stop Israeli imperialism in Palestine.

The rally was held after the death of Abdel-Aziz al-Rantissi, who was killed after an Israeli air strike last week on Palestinian soil. -- JP
