PKS and Golkar Commit to Advancing MSMEs and Defending Palestine

The President of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), Almuzzammil Yusuf (AMY), made a National Silaturahmi visit to the Golkar Party on Monday afternoon (14/9) at the Golkar Central Executive Board office in Jakarta.

During the meeting, Almuzzammil, commonly known as AMY, said the national silaturahmi is part of a good tradition that PKS continues to maintain in order to build communication with various elements of the nation.

“Alhamdulillah, the PKS leadership was able to visit the Golkar leadership and was received directly by the Chairman, Mr Bahlil Lahadalia, and his team. This National Silaturahmi is part of a tradition that PKS continues to maintain with various parties and other elements of the nation,” AMY explained in a statement on Tuesday (15/9).

AMY went on to say that the two parties share a common struggle on the issue of a people-centred economy, namely strengthening MSMEs as one of the main foundations of the national economy.

“PKS and Golkar share the same economic development platform, namely a just economy that sides with the lower strata of society. We agree to support MSMEs so that they advance, become empowered, and move up a class,” AMY continued.

Finally, AMY touched on the issue of Palestine, which has also become a concern and an area of agreement for the two parties to fight for together.

“Support for Palestine is a constitutional mandate. PKS and Golkar affirm a joint commitment to the humanitarian struggle to defend Palestine, and this will be followed up with a joint movement by both parties, especially involving young cadres,” AMY concluded.

PKS President AMY was accompanied during the visit by Secretary General Muhammad Kholid, Chairman of the PKS faction in the House of Representatives (DPR RI), Abdul Kharis Almasyhari, and several heads of PKS central board bodies and departments.

On the Golkar side, Chairman Bahlil Lahadalia was accompanied by Secretary General Muhammad Sarmuji, General Treasurer and Deputy Speaker of the DPR RI Sari Yuliati, and a number of other Golkar central board leaders.
