PKP: Special policy on OJK's SLIK to trigger extraordinary momentum

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Minister for Housing and Settlements (PKP) Maruarar Sirait has revealed that a special policy related to the Financial Information Service System (SLIK) to be issued by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) in support of subsidised housing will drive extraordinary momentum. “The policy to be issued by OJK will have a very significant multiplier effect in the housing sector, particularly for subsidised housing. Land and Building Acquisition Duty (BPHTB) is already free, Building Construction Approval (PBG) is already free, so today’s policy will make consumers very happy. I am confident there will be extraordinary momentum,” Maruarar stated in Jakarta on Monday. According to him, momentum in the housing sector, especially subsidised housing for low-income communities (MBR), can drive national economic growth. “This means it can stimulate the economy and economic growth in line with the directives of the President of the Republic of Indonesia. Employment will increase, banking activity will rise, building materials shops, material stores, housewives selling at stalls, shops, and their workers will also work more frequently, with more jobs. This is what will happen with that policy,” said Ara. OJK Commissioner Chairman Friderica Widyasari Dewi hopes the special SLIK policy can be announced next week. Essentially, OJK supports the noble programme from President Prabowo Subianto on how to provide the 3 million homes programme for the community, particularly low-income communities in this case. OJK’s SLIK is a system that contains debtor credit history information, including payment smoothness and collectibility status. That data becomes one of the main considerations for financial services institutions in determining credit approval for prospective customers.
