Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Housing and Settlements (PKP) continues to strengthen the governance of the Self-Help Housing Stimulant Assistance (BSPS) programme to ensure it remains highly targeted.

“We want to ensure that every house renovation grant is truly received by the entitled community. Therefore, we are continuously building collaborations with the Ministry of Home Affairs and BPS so that the processes of verification, validation, and data updating can run in an integrated manner,” stated the Minister of PKP, Maruarar Sirait, also known as Ara, in Jakarta on Wednesday.

This effort is being implemented through synergy with the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) to update recipient data by utilising the ‘Go PKP’ digital system.

Ara explained that the Go PKP system is operational and serves as a vital component in the verification process for potential aid recipients. Field verification data obtained by the Ministry of PKP is periodically submitted to BPS to serve as material for national data updates, thereby increasing the accuracy of the recipient database.

He also requested various inputs and feedback from the Minister of Home Affairs and the Head of BPS regarding the development of the Go PKP system to more effectively support the implementation of the BSPS Programme.

The Head of BPS, Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, provided several suggestions regarding the comparison between the National Socio-Economic Single Data (DTSEN) and the field verification results conducted by the Ministry of PKP. The synchronisation of these two datasets is expected to produce a more up-to-date and accurate database of aid recipients.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Home Affairs, Tito Karnavian, emphasised the importance of local government involvement in the proposal process for potential aid recipients.

The active role of local governments is considered crucial to ensure that every proposal submitted truly reflects the actual conditions of the community on the ground, ensuring that the distribution of aid is more precisely targeted.

Through the refinement of the Go PKP system and the strengthening of cross-ministerial and inter-agency collaboration, the government hopes that the implementation of the BSPS Programme will become increasingly effective, transparent, and capable of accelerating the improvement of housing quality for low-income communities across Indonesia as part of the support for the 3 Million Houses Programme.
