PKP Ministry Allocates Rp198 Billion to Repair 6,918 Slum Houses in NTB

The number of houses receiving Bantuan Stimulan Perumahan Swadaya (BSPS) from the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PKP) has reached 6,918 units. Each ‘kumuh’ house was built with Rp 20 million. The total budget amounts to Rp 198 billion.

Head of the PU-Perkim, Lalu Wijaya Kusuma, said the 6,918 BSPS houses funded by the PKP Ministry are spread across 10 regencies/cities in NTB.

‘To be in West Lombok there are 576 units. In Desa Dasan Geria, Kecamatan Lingsar, there are 13 units,’ Wijaya said after accompanying PKP Minister Maruarar Sirait in West Lombok, NTB, on Tuesday (19 May 2026).

Wijaya said all houses were built using the stimulus scheme. The stimulus assistance covers both building materials and construction costs, amounting to Rp 20 million per unit.

‘The total cost is simply 20 million per unit times 6,918 units. So all of this is in line with what we proposed,’ Wijaya said.

According to Wijaya, all houses that received BSPS assistance fall into the category of slum housing. The BSPS scheme is different from assistance for uninhabitable houses (RLTH).

‘But the aim is really to reduce slum areas and uninhabitable housing. It’s just that the programme is named BSPS. It comes from the Kementerian PKP. If RLTH, then it will be carried out by the regions as well,’ he stressed.

Wijaya said the BSPS housing construction scheme can be undertaken independently or by relying on a third party, i.e., builders. The Rp 20 million funds include the cost of building the house.

‘But usually people ask for help from a builder. So all these houses are funded from the APBN. For assistance from the Provincial Government Budget (APBD Provinsi), we have 50 units repaired under the RTLH programme,’ he explained.

Wijaya said the total number of slum houses in NTB reaches hundreds of thousands. The figure will be recalculated to ensure the slum housing data is more valid. Going forward, efforts to repair slum houses will be carried out through various schemes besides APBD and APBN.

‘There is also a proposal for CSR contributions from several companies, for example Baznas, and our hope is that the NTB quota can be increased,’ he concluded.
