This is a real example of how the state and private sector can work together. State land is utilised for the people’s interests, while its management is conducted professionally to ensure housing quality remains maintained and sustainable.

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) Maruarar Sirait has stated that the development of apartments (rusun) based on collaboration between the state and private sector serves as a strategic solution in providing decent housing for the community.

He emphasised that the collaborative model, as implemented at the Tzu Chi Cinta Kasih Rusun in Cengkareng, Jakarta, can become a strategic solution in providing decent housing for the community, particularly in urban areas with limited land.

“This is a real example of how the state and private sector can work together. State land is utilised for the people’s interests, while its management is conducted professionally to ensure housing quality remains maintained and sustainable,” said Maruarar, or Ara as he is known, in his statement in Jakarta on Monday.

He also expressed appreciation for the apartment, which he assessed as an ideal model in the development of apartments based on a complete ecosystem.

Meanwhile, the Head of the State-Owned Enterprises Regulatory Agency (BP BUMN) Dony Oskaria affirmed his commitment to supporting the acceleration of national housing provision through cross-sector collaboration.

“We are ready to support the 3 Million Houses Programme by encouraging this type of housing model to be replicated in various regions. In the initial stage, we will focus on five main areas: Jabodetabek, Bandung, Surabaya, Medan, and Makassar. We will conduct mapping and compile a list of potential locations, which we will then submit to the Ministry of PKP,” said Dony.

The government is striving to promote a model of vertical housing development that utilises state assets but is managed professionally by the private sector to enhance service quality and management sustainability.
