PKK Chairperson Inaugurates West Java PKK and Posyandu Heads, Stresses Institutional Strengthening
The Chairperson of the national Family Welfare and Empowerment Movement (TP PKK), Tri Tito Karnavian, inaugurated Samantha Dewi Erwan Setiawan as the Chairperson of the TP PKK and concurrently Chairperson of the Integrated Service Post (Posyandu) Development Team for West Java Province. The ceremony took place in Widya Chandra, Jakarta, on Monday (29/6/2026).
Tri stressed that the position is not merely an honour but a significant responsibility to drive family empowerment and enhance basic public services through the institutional strengthening of the PKK and Posyandu. “The mandate carried as Chairperson of the TP PKK and concurrently Chairperson of the Posyandu Development Team for West Java Province is both an honour and a great responsibility to mobilise family empowerment and basic community services,” Tri stated.
According to Tri, this responsibility is increasingly strategic because West Java is the most populous province in Indonesia. Currently, West Java has approximately 46,024 Posyandu supported by 248,504 cadres spread across all villages and sub-districts. “This immense potential must become the main capital to deliver quality basic services that are increasingly closer to the community,” she asserted.
Tri further explained that the transformation of Posyandu is no longer solely focused on health services but now encompasses six Standard Minimum Service (SPM) sectors: education, health, public works, public housing, public order and security, and social affairs. Therefore, synergy between the TP PKK and the Posyandu Development Team is key to supporting the national development agenda through family strengthening and improving the quality of basic services.
To support this transformation, Tri urged all ranks of the TP PKK and the Posyandu Development Team, both in West Java and across Indonesia, to strengthen institutions down to the village and sub-district level and to enhance cadre capacity as the front line of community empowerment. She also encouraged accelerating the revitalisation of Posyandu and strengthening cross-sector collaboration to optimise basic services.
Additionally, Tri requested that regional governments provide support through policy, guidance, budgeting, and facilitation so that PKK and Posyandu programmes run effectively and deliver tangible benefits to the community. Tri explained that the inauguration is a follow-up to Presidential Regulation Number 99 of 2017 concerning the PKK Movement, reinforced by Minister of Home Affairs Regulation Number 36 of 2020. Meanwhile, Minister of Home Affairs Regulation Number 13 of 2024 mandates that the Chairperson of the TP PKK in a region also serves as the Chairperson of the Posyandu Development Team.
