PKH Task Force Spokesperson Responds After Febrie Adriansyah Named Suspect

Spokesperson for the Forest Area Control Task Force (Satgas PKH), Barita Simanjuntak, has stated that the task force respects the legal process against former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes, Febrie Adriansyah, who has been named a corruption suspect. Febrie was previously the former Executive Chairman of the Satgas PKH. Responding to the impact on the task force’s work, Barita said that the Satgas PKH does not operate on an individual basis, but rather based on a governance system. “The organisational principle is not determined by individuals but by a good governance system,” Barita said at the Ministry of Defence on Monday, 13 July 2026. According to Barita, law enforcement matters fall under the domain of law enforcement officials, and these issues are well-coordinated. He stated that the task force does not work based on assumptions but takes steps using a legal approach. He explained that the task force’s work is based on three functions regulated in Presidential Regulation Number 5 of 2025, which governs forest area control to manage mining, plantation, and other illegal activities. For instance, the task force carries out forest area control, collection of administrative fines, and asset recovery in forest areas. “This has been running smoothly so far,” Barita said. On Monday morning, Minister of Defence Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, as Chairman of the Satgas PKH Steering Committee, gathered the task force leadership at the Ministry of Defence office. Attendees included Attorney General ST Burhanuddin as Deputy Chairman of the Steering Committee I, Indonesian National Armed Forces Commander General Agus Subiyanto as Deputy Chairman of the Steering Committee II, Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Richard Tampubolon as Deputy Executive Chairman, and Head of the Development and Finance Comptroller (BPKP) Yusuf Ateh as a steering committee member. Barita stated that the meeting discussed the optimisation, synchronisation, and evaluation of the task force’s duties. During the meeting, Minister Sjafrie emphasised the importance of good governance. The Satgas PKH plays a vital role in forest area supervision, administrative fine collection, and state asset recovery. All actions must adhere to the principle of accountability. “The task force’s duties are continuously evaluated based on field findings, verification, and data validation,” Barita said. Febrie Adriansyah has been named a suspect in corruption and money laundering cases that caused tens of trillions of rupiah in state losses. The three cases involve coal procurement for a steam power plant, the PT Asabri scandal, and a case at PT Krakatau Steel. The alleged corruption cases were initially handled by the Police’s Corruption Eradication Corps (Kortas Tipikor) and the Metro Jaya Regional Police before being transferred to the Attorney General’s Office.
