JAKARTA - Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf has prohibited assistants of the Family Hope Programme (PKH) from directing Family Beneficiaries (KPM) to shop for essential needs at specific locations. He also stressed that assistants must not handle KPM cards, as this could potentially disadvantage the aid recipients. Gus Ipul disclosed that several violations have resulted in dishonourable terminations for rogue assistants holding the status of Government Employees with Work Agreements (PPPK). According to him, the role of PKH assistants is highly noble, as it ensures that social assistance is utilised in line with its objectives. “The task of assistants is to ensure that the aid provided is used for improving family economies. So, there should be no more assistants playing around,” he stated. “The targets that have been set must be met. Remember, colleagues are monitored not only by official institutions but also by the public. Every report will be followed up,” he concluded.
