PKB Shares Experience with International Republican Institute
Jakarta (ANTARA) — The National Awakening Party (PKB) shared its experience with a delegation from the International Republican Institute (IRI) on strengthening democracy, political leadership regeneration and enhancing the role of the younger generation in political party governance in the Asian region.
According to PKB Central Executive Board Secretary-General M. Hasanuddin Wahid, also known as Cak Udin, sharing such experiences is important for broadening perspectives and building a political party that is adaptive to the changing times.
“We welcome the visit of the International Republican Institute to the PKB Central Executive Board. Meetings like this are very important for strengthening friendship, exchanging experiences and building closer collaboration between political institutions in the region,” Cak Udin said in a statement confirmed in Jakarta on Monday.
During the meeting, he said PKB has consistently provided ample space for the younger generation to take on strategic roles in the party’s leadership.
He said this commitment is realised not only through cadre development, but also by placing young people within the organisation’s core structure.
“At present, many young people are part of the PKB Central Executive Board’s daily management and are directly involved in the party’s decision-making process,” he said.
He explained that this has been possible because leadership regeneration is not merely a slogan for PKB, but part of a grand strategy to build a modern, inclusive political party capable of meeting the political challenges of the future.
Furthermore, he said PKB believes the future of Indonesian politics will be largely determined by the quality of its younger generation.
“Therefore, we not only provide space for participation, but also place them in strategic positions,” he said.
