Jakarta (ANTARA) — The Central Board of the National Awakening Party (PKB) expressed respect for the legal process against party member and Cilacap regent Syamsul Auliya Rachman, who was caught in an anti-corruption operation by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

“We respect all legal processes and uphold the law,” said PKB Central Board Secretary-General M. Hasanuddin Wahid when contacted by ANTARA from Jakarta on Friday.

He stated that the PKB Central Board views the case involving the Cilacap regent as a lesson for all party members to be serious and protect themselves from all unlawful conduct.

Previously, on 13 March 2026, the KPK announced its ninth sting operation of the year, and the third during Ramadhan. The operation arrested Cilacap regent Syamsul Auliya Rachman and 26 others, and seized a quantity of cash in rupiah.

The sting operation was related to allegations of bribery in connection with projects within the Cilacap District Government, Central Java. The KPK has 1 x 24 hours to determine the status of those arrested in the operation in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP).
