Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Awakening Party (PKB) received a draft Labour Protection Bill from the Indonesian Grand Coalition of Labour Struggles on Monday. Party Chairman Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar stated the draft was prepared with consideration for industrialisation interests, the national economy, and workers. “I believe this is not a one-sided view, but rather a comprehensive one that fully considers our industrialisation interests, macro and micro economic interests, and of course the interests of workers,” Muhaimin said in a statement confirmed in Jakarta on Monday. Muhaimin believes the proposal for updating labour regulations was presented at the right momentum, as the government is building a new direction for the national economy. According to him, future national economic development must not only pursue growth but also ensure justice, productivity, sustainability, and economic resilience. He also urged that the deliberation of the Labour Protection Bill involve the government, trade unions, employers, and other stakeholders openly. “PKB fully supports this draft,” he stated.
