PKB No Longer in Survival Mode, Targets Cak Imin for President in 2029

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The National Awakening Party (PKB) has affirmed that in the 2029 General Elections, PKB will no longer be a party focused on mere survival and aims to have its General Chairman, Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin), occupy the presidential or vice-presidential seat. “As a party, we are not just going to survive, but moving forward, we can continue to grow larger, continue to achieve the major targets that are our big goals, including making Gus Muhaimin president or vice president in the 2029 elections,” stated Hanif Dhakiri, Deputy Secretary-General for Ideology, Cadreisation, and Organisational Structure of the PKB Central Executive Board, during his speech at the Halal Bihalal and Cadre Appreciation event at the PKB Central Executive Board office in Jakarta on Friday (10/4/2026). Moreover, in the upcoming political arena, the competition will be more competitive and pragmatic. According to him, in this situation, PKB can only rely on the quality and superiority of its cadres. “PKB must ensure that our cadres in all places are superior, competent, and have a clear commitment to the people,” Hanif said. Furthermore, in the future, the political arena will not just rely on popularity or logistics. According to Hanif, the quality of cadres provides an opportunity for PKB to prepare leaders who are ready to lead.
