PKB must not be like Golkar
PKB must not be like Golkar
From Bisnis Indonesia
The 1999 general election was the first one I ever
participated in. I was, back then, a golput, which means people
who do not vote for any political party. But had my own view,
namely that Functional Group (Golkar) should continue to exist.
I do not think those who dislike the Functional Group (Golkar)
should rely on their muscle let alone or commit destructive acts
like setting Golkar's offices and buildings on fire and the like.
Rather they should use their brains. All they have to do is
campaign: "Do not vote for Golkar in next general election, even
if they give you money and clothes". I am sure Golkar will slowly
but surely become an insignificant party.
However, we should also be watchful not to let the National
Awakening Party (PKB) be like Golkar, namely defending its
President all out, even being willing to die for him despite his
being guilty.
