Jakarta — The National Executive Board of the National Awakening Party (PKB) has strongly condemned the joint actions of the United States and Israel against Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

“We strongly condemn the act of political assassination through military operations against a sovereign state leader,” stated PKB’s Head of International Cooperation Division Luluk Nur Hamidah during a statement in Jakarta on Sunday.

According to her, the attack carried out by the US and Israel cannot be justified under international law, is unacceptable under humanitarian norms, and risks creating a dangerous precedent for global stability.

She stated that if such practices by the US and Israel are permitted, the world would move towards an international system governed by military force rather than law.

“Today Iran becomes the target. Tomorrow, any country could experience the same. When the assassination of a state leader is deemed permissible, there is no longer any guarantee of security for any nation,” she said.

Furthermore, she viewed the action against Iran’s leader as occurring due to the absence of strict sanctions against previous human rights violations, particularly Israel’s actions against Palestine.

“When justice is not enforced consistently, conflicts will only expand,” she stated.

For this reason, she stated that the PKB’s National Executive Board called upon the United Nations and the international community to conduct an independent and transparent investigation into the US-Israeli attack on Iran and impose strict sanctions against any violations of international law without double standards, including against Israel and its supporters.

The party also called for de-escalation of the conflict, opening diplomatic channels, and protecting civilians from the effects of the expanding conflict in the Middle East region.

“Global injustice today threatens world peace tomorrow. If the world continues to remain silent, what will grow is not stability, but an endless spiral of conflict,” she said.

Additionally, she stated that the PKB’s National Executive Board also expressed solidarity with the Iranian people.

“May they be given strength and steadfastness, and may the international community possess the moral courage to uphold genuine justice and peace,” she said.

Previously, Israel launched an attack on Iran on 28 February 2026. On a separate occasion, US President Donald Trump stated that the American military had begun large-scale combat operations in Iran.

One of the joint US-Israeli attacks involved seven rockets striking Tehran near the residence of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Subsequently, Iran launched rocket attacks on Israel and several other targets in Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain.

Meanwhile, Indonesia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that President Prabowo Subianto was ready to travel to Iran to facilitate dialogue in order to restore conducive security conditions.

On 1 March 2026, Iran’s government confirmed the death of Ali Khamenei and declared a 40-day period of mourning as well as a week of work suspension.
