PKB Appreciates Polri for Uncovering Online Gambling Headquarters in West Jakarta: Indonesia Becomes Target of Operations
I appreciate the Indonesian National Police, particularly Bareskrim Polri, for successfully dismantling an online gambling network operated by hundreds of foreign nationals through 75 online gambling sites in the Hayam Wuruk office area, West Jakarta. I also extend my appreciation for the initial investigation conducted jointly with the Ministry of Communication and Informatics in uncovering this case,” said Abdullah when contacted on Sunday (10/5/2026).
Abdullah stated that the dismantling of this case demonstrates Polri’s commitment to eradicating online gambling. He reminded that Indonesia is one of the targets of online gambling operations.
“In my view, the uncovering of this network is not merely a crackdown on online gambling practices but also shows Polri’s commitment to maintaining national economic resilience and digital security. The involvement of hundreds of foreign nationals and dozens of online gambling sites indicates that cross-border digital crimes are now increasingly organised and targeting Indonesia as one of their operational hubs,” he said.
Therefore, he hopes that Polri can continue to eradicate online gambling on a more massive scale. Thus, said he, Indonesia can be free from the grip of online gambling.
“I hope Polri can continue to strengthen the eradication of online gambling and various other digital crimes on a more massive, consistent, and sustainable basis so that Indonesia’s digital space does not become a breeding ground for international criminal networks,” he stated.
As is known, a total of 321 foreign nationals were secured in the online gambling case revelation in Hayam Wuruk, West Jakarta. From the total, the breakdown is 57 Chinese or China nationals, 228 Vietnamese nationals, 11 Laotian nationals, 13 Myanmar nationals, 3 Malaysian nationals, 5 Thai nationals, 3 Cambodian nationals. The perpetrators were caught in the act while conducting online gambling.
“From the perpetrators we successfully secured, the number reaches 321 people,” said the Director of Special Criminal Investigation at Bareskrim Polri, Brigadier General Wira Satya Triputra.
Currently, the perpetrators are still under examination. The perpetrators are being examined in the Hayam Wuruk area building.
“For the perpetrators, up to now they are still up there, we are still conducting intensive examinations and in-depth investigations,” said Wira.
