PKB Aims to Nominate Cak Imin for President or Vice President in 2029

The National Awakening Party (PKB) has revealed its targets for the 2029 elections. One of PKB’s primary targets is to position its General Chairman, Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin), as President or Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia. “Only in this way can we as a party not only survive but also grow stronger in the future, achieving our major goals, including making Gus Muhaimin President or Vice President in 2029,” said PKB Vice Chairman Hanif Dhakiri at the PKB Cadre Appreciation and Halalbihalal event at the PKB Central Board Office in Central Jakarta on Friday (10/4/2026). Hanif stated that the current and future political situation will be competitive. This target can be achieved through collective efforts from the cadres. “In the midst of a political situation that is becoming increasingly competitive and likely more pragmatic, one of the most reliable strengths for PKB is the excellence of its cadres,” he said. Hanif views political contests as not merely about popularity and logistics, but also determined by who is most ready to lead. He hopes PKB cadres will prepare to become leaders. “I see that political contests are not just about popularity or mere logistics, but also about who is most ready to lead. This is the gap that PKB can fill by preparing cadres in various places who are truly ready to lead,” he said. Hanif conveyed that PKB wants to ensure all cadres across regions are competent. Hanif also expects PKB cadres to side with the people. “So PKB must ensure that our cadres everywhere excel, our cadres everywhere are competent, and our cadres everywhere have a clear commitment to the people,” he said.
