Chair of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Central Board for Foreign Cooperation, Luluk Nur Hamidah, received a visit from the Chairman of the Jerusalem and Palestine Committee, Dr. Marwan Muhammad Ayesh Abu Ras, and his delegation at the PKB Central Board office on Thursday, 13 August 2026.

During the meeting, Luluk emphasised that PKB’s support for Palestinian independence is not solely based on religious factors but primarily on humanitarian values and the principle that independence is the right of every nation.

“PKB supports Palestinian independence not only because of religious belief, but more than that because of humanity. Because independence is everyone’s right,” said Luluk in her statement.

Luluk said PKB is open to building cooperation with various parties to encourage the realisation of Palestinian independence and to strengthen bilateral relations between Indonesia and Palestine.

“God willing, PKB is ready to facilitate scholarships for Palestinian students who will pursue education in Indonesia, both men and women, especially in the fields of science and technology,” she asserted.

Meanwhile, member of the Indonesian House of Representatives Commission I from the PKB faction, Oleh Soleh, added that PKB is committed to supporting the implementation of the 15-Point Gaza Peace Roadmap proposed by the Board of Peace so that it can be carried out as well as possible by both parties.

“I believe Indonesia will never become part of them (Zionists), because Indonesia and Palestine are like one body, like a single entity. And we want the 15 points of the agreement to be implemented as well as possible by both sides,” said Oleh Soleh.

Meanwhile, Marwan Ayesh conveyed the current situation in Palestine and the bitter experiences he endured during the war, including the loss of his child and dozens of his family members.

The Gaza political figure who long served in the Palestinian parliament also highlighted the weak position of parliament in conflict situations.

Marwan appreciated PKB and said Indonesia needs a party capable of carrying the great aspirations of the nation and religion. “I am pleased to be able to visit PKB under the leadership of Mr. Muhaimin Iskandar. This is a great and extraordinary party,” said Marwan.

He also conveyed congratulations on the 81st Anniversary of Indonesian Independence and expressed hope that Palestine can soon experience independence like Indonesia.
