MEDAN, North Sumatra: The local chapter of the Justice Party
(PK) has substituted street rallies with holding free medical
services in a number of sites across the city, attracting
hundreds of poor people.

Chapter chairman Iskan Qolba Lubis said PK's programs included
bazaars of cheap staple food and consultation services on various
problems. "The free medical services, however, attract the most
visitors," he said on Saturday.

"Residents want us to provide the services even on holidays,"
another PK executive said. (39)
