Pizza answers complaints

In response to G.S. Edwin's letter published in The Jakarta Post on Sept. 3, the management of Pizza Hut Indonesia extends its sincere apology for the incident occurring at Pizza Hut Pasaraya that caused him and his friend inconvenience.

We have taken all necessary actions to ensure that this will not happen again.

It is unfortunate that G.S. Edwin considered the complimentary offer made by our restaurant manager an insult or thought that we were trying to hide the truth.

He refused to give our restaurant manager his name and address. We are very concerned about such incidents and would like to find out more from the customer personally.

With regard to the Lunchtime Pan Pizza promotion, our present set up is to show the regular price of Rp 5,200 with a promotional discount of Rp 1,300 on the bottom of the bill. The total price of Rp 5,200 minus Rp 1,300 is exactly the same as the price stated in our menu.

The reason for showing the full price and then subtracting the promotional discount is to inform our customers that they have just received a 25 percent discount by ordering a Personal Pan Pizza at lunch time. We also need to keep track of the discounts we offer as part of our control system.

On to the melon juice. Because it is a seasonal juice (like mango, water melon and sirsak), we will provide a note on the tent card or at the condiment box complete with the price of Rp 4,500 excluding 10 percent tax.

Lastly, we would like to invite G.S. Edwin and his friend to have a complimentary meal in one of our restaurants by sending his name and address directly to Pizza Hut head office: Arena PRJ Hall E, Food & Service Building, Kota Baru Kemayoran, Jakarta 10001, attention to Ms. Dewi Alwi, Promotions Manager Pizza Hut Indonesia.
