PIP Claims to Have Disbursed Rp 65 Trillion to Nearly 15 Million MSMEs
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Finance Minister of the Republic of Indonesia Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa revealed that the Public Service Agency (BLU) of the Ministry of Finance, the Government Investment Centre (PIP), has disbursed financing amounting to Rp 65 trillion to 14.9 million micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) players.
“I commend PIP; from 2017 until June 2026, the government has disbursed financing of Rp 65 trillion to 14.9 million business players who were previously not reached by banking services,” the Finance Minister said while opening the Micro-Enterprise People’s Market at Alun-Alun Kidul in Yogyakarta, as quoted from a Ministry of Finance video on Friday (17/7/2026).
Purbaya considers access to capital for business players to be very important for further growing and strengthening the people’s economy. This is because Indonesia has around 66.5 million MSME players.
“More than 67% of MSMEs are micro-enterprises; they contribute more than 60% of GDP (gross domestic product) and absorb nearly 117 million workers,” he explained.
Regarding the difficulty of accessing capital, PIP has lowered the interest rate on loans for micro-enterprise players from the previous 22.5% to 8%. This policy is in accordance with the direction of President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto.
The PIP funds are channelled through official distributing institutions, with loan ceilings typically reaching a maximum of Rp 20 million per debtor for business capital.
