PIP Account Activation Deadline: When is the Final Date? Check the Date!
The deadline for activating accounts for the 2025 Indonesia Smart Program (PIP) is until the end of this month. Previously, the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) had extended the account activation deadline from 31st December 2025 to 31st January 2026.
According to the official Kemendikdasmen website, for those of you who are PIP recipients in 2025, the deadline for activating the 2025 PIP account is 28th February 2026. After that, the funds will be transferred to the recipient’s account. If the deadline is missed, the PIP funds will be returned to the state treasury.
How to Activate a PIP Account
According to Puslapdik Kemendikdasmen, here’s how to activate a PIP account:
- Direct Activation
Requirements:
Identity card (KTP) belonging to the PIP recipient/parent/guardian
Family card (KK)
Letter of account activation from the school principal
Procedure:
Prepare the complete documents (the documents mentioned above)
Bring the complete documents and go to the PIP distributing bank
Bank BRI: Elementary school, junior high school, Package A & Package B, Special Needs Elementary School & Junior High School
Bank BNI: High school, vocational school, Package C, Special Needs High School
Bank BSI: For all levels in the Aceh Province
After the documents are complete, activate the account to withdraw the PIP funds
Wait for the PIP funds to be disbursed
If the account is already active, make sure you have the savings book.
- Activation via Power of Attorney
Additional documents if activating via power of attorney:
Original statement of absolute responsibility (SPTJM) with a stamp signed by the student’s representative (Principal)
Photocopy of the power of attorney holder’s (Principal) KTP and show the original
Photocopy of the power of attorney holder’s (Principal) appointment letter that is still valid and show the original
Letter of recommendation for account activation via power of attorney from the Head of the Education Office
Not yet having a KTP:
Original power of attorney and photocopy of the PIP recipient’s parent/guardian’s KTP and family card
Having a KTP:
Original power of attorney and photocopy of KTP
PIP 2026 Recipient Coverage Expanded
In 2026, Kemendikdasmen will expand the PIP recipient coverage to include the pre-school/early childhood education level. With this expansion, PIP is expected to be more effective in supporting compulsory education up to at least the secondary level and reducing the cost barriers to education that are often faced by low-income families.
Here are the details of PIP recipients in 2026:
Pre-school: 888,000 students
Elementary school: 10,360,614 students
Junior high school: 4,369,968 students
High school: 1,935,774 students
Vocational school: 1,928,271 students
This is the amount of assistance received by students each year:
Pre-school and elementary school: IDR 450,000/student/year
Junior high school: IDR 750,000/student/year
High school and vocational school: IDR 1,800,000/student/year
