Pink Floyd founder and bassist Roger Waters has collaborated with Palestinian-American singer Mona Miari to rearrange the legendary song ‘Comfortably Numb’. The project is dedicated as a tribute to the Palestinian people and their struggle to achieve independence.

The music video for ‘Comfortably Numb’, released on Wednesday (12/6/2026), depicts the destruction in Gaza, Palestine. Several scenes show vast expanses of rubble that were previously residential areas and city blocks.

Additionally, the video features war survivors who continue striving to rebuild their lives, demonstrating resilience to survive and find happiness amidst difficult circumstances. The visuals also portray the story of the Gaza people’s resistance through survival and existence.

In the song, Waters, now performing with a more melancholic nuance, sings the opening verse from the original version of ‘Comfortably Numb’. Mona Miari then responds in Arabic with lyrics describing the loss caused by war.

‘After what happened, no one is left. No words are left, what is the point of asking? Everything is lost. Home, oh beloved home. The night becomes silent and collapses. Oh, beloved home, tell her,’ reads the translation of the lyrics sung by Miari.

In the next verse, Waters states that the screams of the Palestinian people are able to reach him as far as New York, crossing the ocean. Meanwhile, Miari voices hopes and dreams of freedom for the Palestinian people.
