The Pinisi ship Yukai sank in the waters of Seture Island, Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), on Sunday (27/09/2026) morning. The tourist vessel was carrying international tourists; however, the exact number of foreign visitors has not yet been determined.

In footage viewed by detikBali, the ship could be seen tilting heavily. Approximately ten lifeboats were seen in the vicinity of the vessel, arriving to assist the victims.

Several international tourists were observed already aboard these lifeboats, while the ship’s crew were seen throwing passengers’ suitcases into the rescue boats.

Arif Rahmadan, the Coordinator of the Labuan Bajo SAR Post, confirmed the accident involving the Pinisi ship. The SAR team did not deploy to the location for passenger evacuation as other ship crews were already conducting the rescue.

“We did not deploy (for evacuation) because there were other ships providing assistance,” said Arif.

He has not yet determined the number of passengers or the cause of the shipwreck. “We are also currently seeking further information,” Arif added.
