San Francisco, (ANTARA/PRNewswire)- Pinegrove Credit Partners, backed by Brookfield and HRTG Partners, together with Temasek, announced a strategic partnership focused on venture debt financing. This partnership will focus on providing venture debt financing support for growth-stage companies in innovative economies.

The partnership between Temasek and Pinegrove provides flexible financing solutions with low dilution for technology and life sciences companies at the growth stage. Pinegrove Credit Partners is a venture debt and private credit business owned by Pinegrove.

Temasek’s partnership with Pinegrove reflects a shared view that the role of venture debt is becoming increasingly important in funding the next wave of innovation. As capital markets and equity financing become more selective, the role of venture debt is increasing in supporting high-quality companies seeking growth while maintaining ownership and balance sheet flexibility.

Pinegrove Credit Partners provides secured loans to venture-backed companies, focusing on businesses operating at the forefront of innovation, including AI and computing infrastructure, defense, space, energy, robotics technology, enterprise software, healthcare, and life sciences.

Pinegrove has long maintained a relationship with Silicon Valley Bank (SVB), a division of First Citizens Bank and one of the leading institutions in venture banking. Pinegrove has collaborated with SVB’s venture debt financing platform since 2012. In December 2024, they formalized a strategic financing relationship.

Since its founding in 2012 and across various venture and credit cycles, Pinegrove Credit Partners’ funds have deployed over $4.5 billion into approximately 580 loans to more than 450 companies in the growth stage. As of March 2025, various existing funding instruments have closed or signed preliminary agreements for 37 loans with total commitments of approximately $700 million.

“Pinegrove’s platform is built on deep connectivity across the innovation ecosystem, including long-standing relationships with banking partners, sponsors, and company leadership teams,” said Jim Ellison, Managing Partner and Head of Pinegrove Credit Partners. “This position drives differentiated origination and allows us to deploy capital with a high degree of selectivity.”
