PT Pindad has responded after President Prabowo Subianto shared his experience of using the Maung vehicle, noting that the roof leaked and produced a ‘rattling’ noise. PT Pindad stated that the vehicle has since been repaired.

Regarding the leakage in the Garuda Limousine, PT Pindability explained that the condition occurred during the early stages of using the MV3 Garuda Limousine vehicle. After receiving feedback and evaluation, Pindad’s technical team immediately conducted a thorough inspection and repair, which was completed accurately and swiftly so that the vehicle could return to operating optimally according to established standards, PT Pindad wrote on its official Instagram account on Friday (12/6).

PT Pindad stated that feedback from Prabowo is essential for the company, serving as a basis for future refinement and innovation. “Various feedback provided by the President and users serves as very valuable input for the company to continue refining and innovating the products developed in the future,” Pindad wrote.

Pindad explained that the MV3 Garuda Limousine used by Prabowo as an official vehicle was developed as a full-armour configuration vehicle without a sunroof feature. However, Pindad noted that three days before the President’s inauguration, there was a need to add one so that the President could greet the public directly during various state activities.

“PT Pindad expresses its high appreciation and respect for President Prabowo’s trust in the development and use of the MV3 Garuda Limousine as a presidential vehicle,” the company wrote. “That trust is a source of pride and a great responsibility for all PT Pindad employees to continue providing high-quality products to meet user needs,” it added.

Prabowo previously revealed that he experienced the Maung’s roof leaking during heavy rain. This was shared by Prabowo during the XVIII National Congress (Munas) of HIPMI held in Lampung on Wednesday (10/6). Prabowo initially mentioned that he overheard his staff comparing the prices of various cars.

Prabowo then recounted an experience of falling asleep in the vehicle while heavy rain was falling. “I like to sleep in the car. One time, I was sleeping in the car, and suddenly, because of the heavy rain outside, I woke up to a ‘tek, tek’ sound. I woke up, and it was leaking!” he said.

Despite encountering these issues, Prabowo stated that such problems are natural in the development process of new products. He subsequently requested Pindad to carry out repairs. “Since it is a new product, I sent it back. I said, ‘Pincad, please reduce the leaks’,” he said.

Furthermore, Prabowo admitted to hearing noisy rattling sounds when using the Maung in mountainous areas. “After that, using the car to go up the mountain, it was ‘gredek, gredak-gredak, gredak’ [rattling sounds],” he remarked.
