Pindad Prepares Glass-Walled Presidential Car for Prabowo

PT Pindad (Persero) Chief Executive Sigit Puji Santosa said he was ready to meet President Prabowo Subianto’s request regarding the design and specifications of a glass-made presidential car. ‘We will keep preparing,’ Sigit said at the State Palace in Jakarta on Monday, 18 May 2026. However, Sigit did not disclose details of the procurement of a new presidential car for President Prabowo. He asked the public to wait. ‘Wait for the right moment,’ he said. Prabowo uses a Pindad-made presidential car in the MV-3 Garuda Limousine series. At his inauguration on 20 October 2024, Prabowo rode a white SUV during the parade from the DPR building in Senayan to the State Palace. Prabowo has often used the vehicle nicknamed Maung as the official state carriage. In May 2026, President Prabowo asked Pindad to design a special car for the head of state with transparent glass so that the people can see him sitting or standing inside the cabin. The audience laughed at the President’s idea. Prabowo claimed the idea was for the people who have been waiting for his visits to the regions. ‘Sure? I am 75 years old. I feel sorry for the people who have waited a long time, but I am enthusiastic,’ he said.
