Piling works disrupt phones
JAKARTA (JP): As many as 368 telephone lines from the Tebet
Automatic Telephone Exchange have been disrupted since Tuesday
due to piles being driven into the ground at the Jl. Casablanca
construction project.
Rizal Saat, the head of PT Telkom's East Jakarta office said
in a release yesterday that the piling works have destroyed 500
pairs of premier cable in Tebet.
The result is that telephone lines with the prefixes of 829,
830, 831 and 835 are out of order.
Repairs are being done by PT Telkom and are scheduled for
completion next week, Rizal said.
He said that customers could call 117 in case of only minor
telephone disturbance.(sur)
