Pilgrims Benefit from Mecca Route Service: Arriving in Jeddah, They Can Immediately Begin Their Pilgrimage
The Mecca Route service, also known as Fast Track, is a facility that accelerates and streamlines Saudi Arabian immigration procedures, which are now conducted directly at departure airports in Indonesia. Hajj pilgrims no longer need to handle immigration processes upon arrival in Saudi Arabia.
Hajj pilgrim Agung Pribadi (57) from West Java stated that the Mecca Route service is more practical. According to him, prospective pilgrims can immediately begin their pilgrimage upon arriving in Mecca.
“As soon as we arrived at the airport for departure, upon arriving in Jeddah, we were directly guided from the embarkation point to the hotel, and then we could immediately begin our pilgrimage. This is a breakthrough that we believe is very good,” Agung told reporters at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tangerang, Sunday (17/5/2026).
Agung said that the presence of Saudi immigration officers in Indonesia means they no longer need to queue upon arrival in the Holy Land. According to him, this helps pilgrims feel more comfortable.
“We have received very good and fast service, where passport checks and immigration procedures have been carried out at the embarkation point,” he explained.
He heard stories from relatives and neighbors who arrived earlier in Saudi Arabia. According to them, the Mecca Route service saves energy and time.
“Friends who have departed earlier and whom I have contacted said they are satisfied. So we don’t get tired of having to wait any longer, maybe for a few hours, or waiting for luggage. That has all been provided directly,” he added.
On the other hand, Agung hopes that services at the hajj dormitories can be improved. He mentioned facilities in the rooms and other supporting services so that pilgrims feel more comfortable.
“Perhaps the services at the hajj dormitories could be improved, both in terms of rooms, facilities, or food. But for us, this is not a major problem; it could just be further enhanced,” he explained.
