Pilgrimage on the Wet Earth of South Tapanuli's Mass Grave
A pall of grief still hangs over Batu Godang village in Angkola Sangkunur, South Tapanuli, North Sumatra, following the landslide that struck at the end of November last year. As Ramadan began, families of the victims came to pay their respects at the mass burial site, where the earth remains waterlogged, located not far from the remnants of mud still covering village roads and residents’ homes.
