The board of the Indonesian Christian Intelligence Union (PIKI) for the 2026-2031 period has been officially inaugurated in a solemn ceremony attended by national figures, academics, professionals, bureaucrats, and church leaders from across the country. This inauguration marks a new chapter for PIKI as it seeks to strengthen the intellectual role of Christians in supporting the Indonesia Emas 2045 vision.

The General Chairman of PIKI for the 2026-2031 period, Maruarar Sirait, emphasised the organisation’s commitment to transforming into a progressive think tank. According to Maruarar, who also serves as the Minister of Housing and Residential Areas, PIKI must act as a catalyst for social change, capable of providing concrete solutions to the nation’s future challenges.

“PIKI must not merely be a discussion-based organisation, but must become an organisation that produces ideas, policies, innovations, and leadership that impact society, the church, the business world, and the state,” he stated during his inauguration speech on Saturday.

The Minister of Home Affairs, Tito Karnavian, who attended to provide guidance, emphasised the crucial role of intellectual organisations in maintaining national stability and unity. Amidst increasingly complex global dynamics, Indonesia requires leaders who possess both integrity and high intellectual capacity.

Tito outlined five strategic points for PIキ, including strengthening moderation and tolerance as the foundation of development, encouraging the improvement of high-quality human resources, and developing character-driven young leadership. “Indonesia needs more intellectuals who are not only academically intelligent but also possess integrity, nationalism, and a commitment to serving the community,” the Minister of Home Affairs remarked.

The Deputy General Chairman of the PIKI Central Executive Board, Fary Djemy Francis, added that this period of PIKI will focus on innovation, investment, and the development of national talent. He highlighted the substantive pillars that will guide the organisation’s future direction.

“It is time for PIKI to be an organisation that does not just think, but also executes change,” said Fary Djemy Francis.

This inauguration serves as the starting point for PIKI to contribute more deeply to realising an advanced, inclusive, and globally competitive Indonesia, grounded in the values of faith, integrity, and a spirit of service.
