PII states Bandung Mayor supports ASEAN-wide Engineers Conference
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Institute of Engineers (PII) has stated that Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan supports the organisation of the Conference of ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organisations (CAFEO), or the Southeast Asian Engineers Conference, scheduled to be held in Bandung, West Java.
“Mayor Farhan welcomes the organisation of the ASEAN-wide Engineers Conference or the 44th CAFEO, which is planned to take place in Bandung on 20-22 October,” said PII General Chairman Ilham Akbar Habibie in a statement confirmed in Jakarta on Wednesday.
According to him, the support from the Bandung City Government includes cooperation in providing venues related to technology development.
Furthermore, PII Executive Director Santhi Serad explained that these venues will be visited by CAFEO delegates.
“Some of the places to be visited are related to technology industries up to food and agriculture industries and herbal plants. This is in line with the theme of CAFEO 44, Future of ASEAN: Shared Prosperity and Humanity through Inclusive and Sustainable Industrialisation,” said Santhi.
Meanwhile, Farhan acknowledged that Bandung has many suitable places for hosting CAFEO.
“Bandung has many historical sites related to technology, including the oldest Engineering Science university, ITB (Bandung Institute of Technology). Of course, we welcome it gladly, and we will assist with places that can be visited by the ASEAN Engineers Conference delegates later,” said Farhan.
