The Indonesian Engineers Association (PII) South Kalimantan Region held its 2026 Regional Assembly (Muswil) to evaluate the current management, establish organisational policy directions, and elect the Chairperson of PII South Kalimantan for the 2026–2029 period.

The assembly took place at the PII South Kalimantan Regional Secretariat Hall in Banjarmasin on Saturday (1/8). The event was attended by the South Kalimantan Regional Management, representatives from Regency/City Branch Management, the Young Engineers Forum (FIM), PII seniors, the Young Member Forum (FAM) from student campuses, and engineering professionals from various disciplines.

Conducted democratically and in a spirit of kinship, the assembly ultimately appointed Fairid Rusdi as the Chairperson of the Indonesian Engineers Association (PII) South Kalimantan Region for the 2026–2029 period. This marks the second term for Fairid to lead the regional organisation.

The new management of PII South Kalimantan is expected to continue strengthening the organisation to face regional and national development challenges. The new leadership is tasked with enhancing synergy between professional organisations, the government, universities, the business sector, and all stakeholders to increase the contribution of the engineering profession to sustainable development.

Mursid Rachman Hadi, Chairman of the Organising Committee (OC), stated that with this continued leadership, PII South Kalimantan is optimistic about presenting an organisation that is increasingly professional, adaptive, and innovative. He aims for the association to serve as a major home for all engineers in the region, supporting the realisation of competitive, sustainable, and community-oriented regional development.

‘The Regional Assembly is a mandate of the organisation’s constitution, playing a strategic role in determining policy direction and leadership regeneration within the Indonesian Engineers Association. As the Steering Committee, we ensured that the entire trial process adhered to the Articles of Association, the Bylaws, and the rules of the Regional Assembly,’ he added.
