Bandung, Kompas.com – Minister of Law and Human Rights Natalius Pigai claimed that he has never been reprimanded by President Prabowo Subianto since taking office as Minister of Law and Human Rights on 21 October 2024. He made the remarks during the HAM Journalists Class event in Bandung, West Java, on Wednesday (20 May 2026). “Let me say this in front of the journalists here. From 21 October 2024 to this moment, almost 1.8 years, I have been a minister and have never been reprimanded, whether verbally or in writing,” Pigai said. He said that some of his statements on human rights issues often drew public attention. He cited the time when he went to Tempo’s office after the pig’s head was used in a threat against a journalist. Pigai admitted that at that time many people expected him to be reprimanded. “When I arrived, no one reprimanded me. Not at all, I was not reprimanded by anyone,” he said. According to Pigai, the absence of reprimand indicates that his views are in line with President Prabowo. “It means what I have expressed all this time is in tune, in step, and in harmony with my leader,” he said. Pigai said he continues to actively express his views on human rights issues because he feels full support from the President. “If you are a minister, and you are reprimanded, you stay quiet, right? I am actually moving ahead more,” he said.
