Pidie Regent: Aid Distribution for Disaster Victims Must Be Accurate
Data must be absolutely accurate, ensuring that no eligible residents are left off the list of recipients. Banda Aceh (ANTARA) - Pidie Jaya Regent Sibral Malasyi stated that the first phase of aid worth Rp184.9 billion for those affected by hydrometeorological disasters in the district must be precisely targeted. “The distribution of aid to disaster-affected communities is the local government’s top priority. The aid distribution emphasises the principles of accuracy, transparency, and fairness,” said Sibral Malasyi in Pidie Jaya, Aceh, on Thursday. The Regent commended the efforts of the Social Services, Women’s Empowerment, and Child Protection Office (Dinsos P3A), which has proposed aid data to the central government, as a swift and responsive step to accelerate post-disaster community recovery. Nevertheless, the Regent also requested that all relevant parties remain vigilant in the ongoing further verification and validation processes. The Regent further stressed that disaster aid, such as housing assistance, livelihood guarantees, death benefits, and aid for severely injured victims, is a right of the community that must be received promptly without prolonged administrative obstacles. Therefore, Sibral Malasyi urged that all data collection processes be conducted meticulously, with direct visits to the field to ensure the results truly match the facts. The Regent also hopes that the data validation process at the central level can be completed soon, so that subsequent phases of aid for disaster victims can be disbursed as quickly as possible. “This hope is an important part of efforts to accelerate the recovery of the socio-economic conditions of the Pidie Jaya community so that they can rise again comprehensively,” said Sibral Malasyi.
