A pickup truck lost control on the Ngurah Rai Bypass in Kuta, Badung Regency, on Monday (26 October 2026) evening. The Suzuki pickup veered off course and knocked down a traffic sign.

“The driver of the Suzuki pickup, registration number DK 8839 FP, lost control,” Denpasar Police Traffic Unit Chief Commissioner Mohammad Bhayangkara Putra Sejati said on Tuesday (27 October 2026).

There were no fatalities in the accident. Bhayangkara said it happened shortly before midnight, at around 11.42pm Central Indonesian Time.

The pickup was travelling south from the north at kilometre 20 of the Ngurah Rai Bypass. As it went around a bend, it reportedly swerved to the right, apparently because the driver was not sufficiently careful. The left tyres of the black pickup mounted the pavement before it hit a traffic-sign post and a frangipani tree.

“[The driver was] not sufficiently careful, lost control and swerved to the right. The left tyres mounted the pavement, then hit a traffic-sign post and a frangipani tree,” Bhayangkara said.

The two people in the vehicle, Saiful Rizal, 43, and Syaiful Azis, 20, survived but were injured. Rizal sustained injuries to his head and left leg, while Azis was injured on his forehead, shoulder, cheek and right leg. Both were receiving medical treatment.

Police have carried out initial procedures at the scene. The material damage from the accident is estimated at Rp10 million.
