Pickpockets at bus stop

Always be on your guard when you are waiting for a bus at
Atmajaya bus stop (central Jakarta) or you will fall prey to
pickpockets.

My son had his cell phone stolen while waiting for a bus there
at about 3 p.m. on March 9. He said three men approached him and
one of them suddenly pulled at his jeans and held his calves.

Thinking that this man was crazy, my son moved his position.
Then, this man showed my child a tissue packet as if giving the
impression that my son had stepped on it. A short time later,
when my son wanted to look at the time on his cell phone, he was
surprised to find that the phone, kept in his bag, had gone. He
soon realized that while the man he thought was crazy was pulling
at his jeans, his two friends had taken the cell phone. Then, so
my son recalled, this man showed him the tissues only to distract
his attention.

Unfortunately, the three men, when chased, jumped into a
running bus.
