I would like to warn people who visit Bandung in West Java to
be on the alert, for there may be pickpockets in the crowds. The
pickpockets usually operate in the Jl. Dalem Kaum shopping
center.

Here, shoppers and pedestrians cannot walk freely because of
the many sidewalk vendors blocking most of the pavement. In such
a busy place shoppers and pedestrians can lose their
concentration and so become easy prey for the pickpockets.

The pickpockets generally work in a group. If one of them
succeeds in snatching the wallet of a passer-by, it will
immediately be handed over to another member of the group. This
person will then hand it over to a third person, and so on. No
one can accuse the first pickpocket of taking the wallet and
nothing can be done to prove the crime.
