PIB to introduce party in the U.S.

JAKARTA: Chairman of the New Indonesia Alliance Party (PIB) Sjahrir is scheduled to visit the United States, in a bid to introduce the newly established party to both the international community and Indonesians abroad.

Sjahrir and his entourage will embark on an 18-day visit to the U.S. on Tuesday.

During his visit, Sjahrir, an economist turned politician, will meet a wide range of groups, including scholars, bureaucrats, students, non-governmental organizations and members of the Indonesian community.

Sjahrir is scheduled to address two distinguished forums at the University of Chicago and Harvard University. --JP
