PHRI Members Prepare Collaboration Packages to Attract Tourists
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) Hariyadi BS Sukamdani stated that the hotel and restaurant industry is ready to welcome this year’s school holiday season by preparing collaboration packages with amusement parks in several regions.
“The latest package is a collaboration with amusement parks to make the package more attractive,” said PHRI Chairman Hariyadi BS Sukamdani when contacted by Antara in Jakarta on Thursday.
These collaboration packages are designed to attract family travellers. Therefore PHRI members are preparing collaboration packages with amusement parks in several regions.
“All hotels are ready to welcome the school holidays,” Hariyadi said.
However, PHRI estimates that the increase in tourist visits during this holiday season is likely to be stagnant compared with the same period last year.
“In terms of the projection for visitor growth, it is likely to be the same as last year; there is no growth,” he said.
According to Hariyadi, one factor that is feared to suppress tourist visits is the rise in air fares due to higher fuel and avtur costs.
“What is feared now that could reduce visits is the rise in air fares. For Java Island, perhaps visits will not fall because road access is quite good,” he said.
Regarding government support, PHRI hopes there will be incentives or subsidies for air fares and other modes of transport to maintain purchasing power and support domestic tourist movements during the holiday season.
