PHR Records Oil and Gas Production of 157.33 Thousand Barrels in 2025
PT Pertamina Hulu Rokan (PHR) recorded solid operational performance throughout 2025, achieving total oil and gas production equivalent to 157.33 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day (BOEPD). This achievement consisted of oil production of 151.55 thousand barrels of oil per day (BOPD) and gas production of 33.48 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD). PT Pertamina Hulu Rokan President Director Muhamad Arifin stated that 2025 was a period demonstrating the company’s resilience in maintaining performance and creating sustainable growth. “The various achievements attained by PHR throughout 2025 are a proud accomplishment as well as proof of the company’s ability to carry out its strategic role as one of the main contributors to national oil and gas production,” he said, quoted from a written statement on Friday (5/6/2026). To maintain production sustainability, PHR executed an aggressive field development programme through the drilling of one exploration well, 505 exploitation wells, and 319 Workover and Layer Transfer (KUPL) wells. Thanks to these efforts, the company recorded an Audited Key Performance Indicator achievement of 106.69%. PHR also continued to strengthen its operations through the application of technology, digitalisation, and the integrated reinforcement of Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) aspects to ensure reliable, safe, stable, and sustainable domestic energy supply. Throughout 2025, the implementation of this strategy was reflected in various operational achievements and company innovations, ranging from increased oil and gas production and the addition of new wells to the discovery of hydrocarbon resources and the development of Enhanced Oil Recovery technology to optimise the productivity of mature oil and gas fields. These initiatives are part of PHR’s ongoing efforts to maintain production levels, enhance operational efficiency, and sustain its role as one of the largest oil producers in Indonesia. The solid operational performance also yielded positive financial results. In 2025, PHR booked operating revenues of US$3.24 billion, an increase compared to US$3.05 billion in the previous year. Net profit for the year reached US$898.72 million, showcasing the company’s ability to create sustainable added value for shareholders while supporting the contribution of the upstream oil and gas sector to the national economy. The company’s total assets were recorded at US$5.94 billion with total equity reaching US$3.44 billion. Notably, in the area of safety, PHR recorded 69,267,011 safe working hours throughout 2025. This achievement embodies the company’s commitment to building a strong safety culture across all operational areas. In line with this, PHR also continued to strengthen sustainable environmental management practices, evidenced by the receipt of three PROPER Green awards for its Bekasap Rokan, Duri Steam Flood, and Minas Siak operational areas. The company’s commitment to sustainable development was also realised through the implementation of Community Involvement and Development programmes. With a budget realisation of US$1.69 million for 23 programmes, PHR delivered various initiatives providing tangible benefits to the community, ranging from Sumatran elephant conservation and stunting prevention to vocational education development and community economic empowerment around its operational areas. In the aspect of governance, PHR continued to demonstrate sustainable improvement. This was evidenced in the Good Corporate Governance Assessment conducted by the Finance and Development Supervisory Agency for the 2025 financial year, in which PHR recorded a score of 80.791. This score had improved from the previous BPKP assessment. “Revenue and profit growth, the success of the drilling programme, occupational safety achievements, strengthened governance, and various sustainability programmes form an important foundation for PHR,” he added. In line with the vision of becoming a world-class national upstream oil and gas company, PHR continues to integrate sustainability principles into all business aspects through three main pillars: implementing good corporate governance, responsible environmental management, and carrying out social responsibility that provides benefits to the community.
