Photographer nabbed with drug

NUSA DUA, Bali: A photographer at the ongoing world medical assembly has been arrested on charges of possessing marijuana, a press report said yesterday.

The suspect, identified as 33-year-old JKM, was arrested on Monday, the opening of the five-day conference. Police said the suspect was caught red-handed smoking the illicit drug.

The suspect was identified as a photographer from a local photo studio called JPP. Police said the photographer claimed to work for an East Java newspaper and was a contributor to a Jakarta news magazine.

Chief of the local police detective department, Col. Togar Sianipar, said he would give detailed information to the public when the authorities have more information on the case, Antara reported. (pan)
