A man with the initials AN (34) has been arrested for sexually abusing a 13-year-old boy in Ciampea District, Bogor, West Java. The abuse by the photocopy shop worker ended following his arrest by the police. AN was apprehended and intensively examined by investigators from the Women and Children Protection and Human Trafficking Eradication Unit of the Bogor Police. He has also been named a suspect.

‘The individual has been detained,’ said the Head of the Women and Children Protection and Human Trafficking Eradication Unit of the Bogor Police, AKP Silfi Adi Putri, on Thursday (25/6/2026). Police are also examining witnesses to further investigate the case. The sexual abuse was committed more than once. ‘Yes, we are currently processing this, we are examining witnesses,’ she explained. AN has been named a suspect and is being held. He is charged under Article 473 paragraph 4 and/or Article 414 and/or Article 415 letter B of the Criminal Code.

The victim’s advocate, Entin Martini, recounted that the case came to light when the victim’s parents saw a chat message sent by the suspect, AN. The perpetrator asked the victim why he had not been visiting his workplace recently. ‘So, the victim used to play at the perpetrator’s place of business, but after two weeks of not coming, the perpetrator sent a chat message. The parents saw it,’ said Entin. ‘He asked why the boy was not playing at his place anymore, calling himself ’Om’. That is when the parents discovered the videos.’

Entin explained that the suspect committed the abuse by luring the victim with the offer of borrowing a mobile phone. The abuse took place at the suspect’s photocopy business. ‘The closeness leading to the abuse started when the victim was in the fourth grade, continued through fifth and sixth grade, and it happened four times,’ Entin stated. The victim has been provided with psychological support to recover from the trauma. The suspect not only committed the abuse but also recorded the depraved acts. The case was uncovered after the perpetrator sent the videos to the victim’s parents.
