Photo exhibit on Batak image

Photographer Poriaman Sitanggang will exhibit his collection
entitled Batak people image at the World Trade Center from July
12 to 22.

Epin Sitanggang, project officer of the exhibit, told The
Jakarta Post yesterday that Poriaman staged a solo exhibition
entitled Indonesian Image at the same place for four days in
February, 1993.

Epin added that a seminar on Batak entitled Tribalism, Batak
and Nationalism will be held in conjunction with the exhibition
on July 14.

The seminar will feature Minister/State Secretary Moerdiono as
a keynote speaker, Moedji Soetrisno as moderator and several
speakers, including North Sumatra Governor Radja Inal Siregar,
Eros Djarot, editor of the defunct DeTIK, Harry Tjan Silalahi, a
noted political observer and businessman Sopar Pandjaitan. (jsk)
